Faces and Fencing

The Faces Fundraiser was a resounding success! Our hope had been to raise a little over $5,000. God once again accomplished more than we hoped, and, through your generous donations, we raised right at $7,000! It was so enjoyable for our family to put these pictures into frames! We are certain that Josiah is going to LOVE all the faces! It was particularly moving for us to see the 22 faces that were included in memory of people who are now in heaven. Many of these people made a huge impact on our lives in various ways, and, those remembered that we did not know, were family members of folks that we love dearly. We pray you are all pleased with how this project turned out. These photos below and the video really don't show how colorful and clear each picture turned out! We are thrilled and grateful to you all!

I mentioned in a few of my previous posts that my Dad (Bob LaTour) was planning a fundraiser of his own for Josiah. He and his good friend Ken Delorge (also affectionately known as Uncle Snugs) decided to walk the 10 plus miles from our church to our school to raise the funds needed to pay for the fencing around Josiah's therapy pool. My Dad and Ken have coached basketball and soccer for many years, They asked for all of their former players to consider helping them reach their goal by donating at least $10 to support Josiah. Josiah's Papa and Uncle Snugs started out around 3pm on Monday at Beacon Baptist, and they reached the school 3.5 hours later! They were tired and sore, but grateful for the opportunity to help Josiah in this way!

We haven't gotten the final total from my Dad's fundraiser so it's not too late to give! And, even if you were not a former player of Josiah's Papa or Uncle Snugs, don't hesitate to make a donation under the Josiah Verroi Fundraiser here: http://www.beaconbaptist.com/donate/. Every dollar is helping us reach the goal of funding this fencing! A HUGE thanks to those who have given and to my Dad and Ken for loving our boy so much!
To our many prayer warriors, please continue to pray for the health of our family. Our daughter Olivia brought a nasty bug home from school last week, and the doctor called us yesterday confirming that we have had an outbreak of strep throat in our house. Thus far all the kids but one have gotten sick. And, of the kids, Josiah seems to have it the worst. Please pray that his body will fight this off without having to go on antibiotics. He recently had Cdiff from so much antibiotic use during his battle with chronic ear infections. We really don't want to have to put him on another round of antibiotics due to our concern that it would cause a return of the Cdiff. Jeremy and I also got strep. And we have proven much less resilient than the kids. I can't remember a time in our almost 18 years of marriage that we have been this sick at the same time. We both started antibiotics yesterday so hopefully we can heal soon. Thank you to everyone who has been praying!

Construction continues at the Verroi casa! We can't wait to share more updates this Friday!

Because of His Grace,
Christy
