Friday Funding Update:
May 26, 2017

This has been a challenging week. Josiah is growing more and more restless. The best way to describe his energy level is simply to say that it is endless. Running, bounding, jumping, slamming, rocking. Fussing. Laughing. Weeping. Constant motion even while riding in the van. Self-injury. Aggression. And all of this causes his sleep to be greatly disturbed. Josiah has been ripping the ribbing off of the edge of his diapers and sucking on that bit of fabric and string for some time now. I know this sounds gross, but it could be worse. This bit of fabric is on the very edge and is clean. He typically does this gently enough that the diaper still stays intact. But, this week, he has been ripping it so hard that it tears the diaper completely apart and sends the inner stuffing flying in a cloud of fibers. Diaper after diaper after diaper. Wasted. But what can we do? We just hold on and pray for the wisdom and grace needed to treat our boy the way we would hope to be treated if we were ever in his place.

And while we are holding on, God is using so many of you to bring tangible and prayerfully lasting change to our boy. We are holding on to that hope! We are reminding ourselves that this current season we are in will pass, and we are praying that God will graciously use this therapy room and therapy pool to bring Josiah the calm and safety that his body needs.

Our current total is $71,852.05, and this doesn't include a few checks that were written directly to my brother's company to help cover the fence installation! We are so thrilled and blessed and uplifted by all that has been done for our family and specifically for Josiah! We praise the Lord for His faithfulness to provide! Thank you to everyone who has given!

This week the sheetrock construction continued. Lots of sanding and lots of priming. The trim has been installed, and the painting will begin very soon. A HUGE shout out to our dear friends Bill and Toni Brown who have been here since Tuesday working on the tile in the bathroom. It is beautiful, and we can't wait to see the finished product! Bill and Toni are two of the hardest working people I know, and they have come to our rescue several times before. We are grateful for their friendship and willingness to use their talents to honor God and serve others!

I am waiting until the project reaches completion to share with you about some of the generous and gracious contractors that have been working with us. God is using many to bless us mightily!

Because of His grace,
Christy
